I’m Christian Bögle, an illustrator and designer from Germany, working under the name KILLERARTWORX.
I’ve been drawing professionally for more than 20 years. My work is rooted in music, comics, cartoons, punk, skateboarding and all the weird stuff that tends to make life a little more interesting.
I actually started out simply by drawing a lot. In the early 2000s I published a few cartoon books and, at the same time, played in bands myself. Being part of that world made me increasingly interested in everything surrounding music — album covers, posters, shirts, records and all the visual stuff that gives a band its identity.
A t-shirt design contest and a winning design for The Gaslight Anthem eventually opened the door to the music industry.
I’ve been drawing for it ever since.
Over the years I’ve had the chance to create artwork for Blink-182, Bring Me The Horizon, Green Day, Die Ärzte, Fall Out Boy, Royal Republic, Peter Fox, Weezer, NOFX, Zebrahead, Parkway Drive and many more, as well as for companies and organisations including Warner Music, Universal Music, Sony Music and Spotify.
My work has ended up on album covers, records, tour posters, merchandise, clothing, packaging, logos, festival artwork and pretty much anything else that can be printed, pressed, stitched, stuck or hung somewhere.
I don’t really have one fixed style — and I like it that way.
Some projects need a detailed illustration. Others need a simple cartoon, a strange character, something dark, something ridiculous or an idea that shouldn’t really work but somehow does.
For me, the important thing is that the result has personality.
A shirt. An album. A poster. A logo. A weird idea. Something that doesn’t exist yet.
